New Landscaping!

After all the foundation work that we had done last fall and busy-ness with having a new baby, our landscaping needed some serious attention. It had been abused during the work and neglected in the time since then. Seth was really excited to get some new things planted and I was excited to get some old things removed (well, two Holly bushes in particular).

The Before
The two Hollys I hated and one big, old, dead bush.
Austin was sometimes helpful.
We had to use our neighbor's truck to pull this one out. It was huge!
And then he was sometimes not so helpful.
He was literally walking around the yard like this. It's not staged. His scalp was NASTY afterwards.
The Rangers were playing...
And back to being helpful.
Graham was helpful by being his content little self.
The After.
These were selected because of the color they will add.
Seth also trimmed up the remaining bushes and did a GREAT job.
The After. Two Hicks Yew and Three Azaleas. Again, we were hoping to add some color to the front.
Showing the color variety a little better.
Overall, it was a pretty great experience and the front looks totally different now. The driveway is easier to drive down and the windows easier to see out of! Seth deserves all the credit for the ideas and the planting and all the watering since then. If these live, it will be because of him, not me. Love you, babe!

  1. I'm pretty sure that those little bushes/plants in the front (that aren't the azaleas or the Yews) are some like the ones we have in front now. We used to have a wild butterfly bush (wild in that in grew in wild-ish ways) but it was too untamed for me. Enter the lovely purply-green things whose name I can't remember! Nice job (not just because we have similar things, but because it really does look nice and open).

    1. Yup! Still mows the neighbor's lawn. Now, though, he shares with our other neighbor, Sean, so he only has to move every other week now.
