Preston Trail Farms, fall 2015

I had it on our To Do list for fall to go to a new pumpkin patch. I wanted to try this one that had good reviews and was closer than some others we had tried but still had a hayride and maze like I wanted. Well, the sinus infection about did me in the middle of the month and it rained something fierce so we had cancelled our plans. And then we impromptu decided to go to Turner's last football game because the weather was so great that afternoon and then since we already in McKinney, we decided to keep driving and go all the way to Preston Trail Farms.

I'm so glad we did! The weather was great, albeit a tiny bit windy, and the boys had a blast! We posed with cut-outs, fed animals, went on a hayride (all by ourselves given the recent rains), did the hay maze and bought some pumpkins super cheap. My only regret is that I hadn't brought our camera, so the only pictures I was able to get were with my phone. They're not terrible, but i wish I'd had some better equipment to capture the afternoon with. Oh well!

The feed is included in your ticket price as is the hayride and a hotdog per person! It's a great deal.

This guy knew what was up.
Here are the pictures from the (MUDDY) hayride. We were spared from being splattered until the last 5 seconds when Graham got hit by some from the tire, but this driver seriously knew his stuff to pull this thing around in ruts and mud so deep I was sure he'd get stuck! My favorite memory from this day, the one that is a perfect example of why I have this blog, the one that I treasure deep in my heart and hope to never forget (and thus the blog), is that we sang Wheels on the Bus while on the hayride and we kept making up new things to sing about, both bigs having contributed several ideas. For example: the wheels on the tractor go round and round. The mud on the tires goes squish, squish, squish. The water in the puddle goes splat, splat, splat. Etc. I can't remember all of the rounds we came up with, but it was totally fitting for our family (music and singing), we each took turns deciding new things, etc. (Austin has since decided to make up new words to most every song which can be a tad annoying, but that moment on the hayride was pure heaven for me.)
I have some strange addiction to profile shots,
especially if hair is blowing!
Then it was time for the corn maze. It turned out to be too muddy inside for the stroller, so I stayed outside with Carson which was fine. I could have worn him, but we didn't know what to expect in terms of size of the place and had left the carrier in the car.
love my new pumpkin stack!
