Spofford Family Vacation 2014 -- Jefferson, TX

Per tradition, it was time for the biannual Spofford Family Vacation this year, and the location was Jefferson, TX. (We've done Austin, San Antonio, Hot Springs, and Jefferson.) This time it was Spencer and Cheryl's turn to plan and the location is really a minor point in the vacation. We look for a place relatively close to Dallas so the travel time isn't too much and where there's a house big enough to hold all 11 of us! It was a great trip, a good house, and a fun getaway with family. Thanks Spencer and Cheryl!!

Starting out the vacation right!

The first morning in the house, we celebrated cousins birthdays. Kim is the only one dressed for the day.

One of our adventures was lunch at Big Pines Lodge followed by a boat tour on the Graceful Ghost.
They say it's the only remaining wood burning paddle boat in the United States.
Ireland took this picture!
We did Spofford Vacation Olympics again!
The sandy dirt meant dirty feet constantly.
We went to dinner on the river and ate alligator!
Love Cinnamon rolls!
One day, we went to town!
Railway museum:
The detail was a-mazing.
re-created, not original

A little arts and crafts project:

We taught DTI how to play Uno Moo and the big cousins also played a lot of CandyLand.

On the last day, I took pictures of the area near the house we stayed in.
SO cool!

On the way home, we stopped for lunch together.
Graham loved the free ice cream!
